F-1 student visa

For full-time study at a SEVP-approved US school.

B1/B2 visitor visa

Tourism, visiting family and business visits.

Dependant visas

For a spouse or children joining a student or worker in the US.

Since 1 October 2025, most visa applicants, including B1/B2 and F-1, need an in-person interview. Limited exceptions exist, such as some B1/B2 renewals.
F-1: your school issues a Form I-20 after registering you in SEVIS, and you pay the SEVIS I-901 fee before the interview.
An F-1 visa can be issued up to 365 days before your course starts, but you can’t enter the US more than 30 days before the start date.
The visa application fee for B1/B2 and F-1 is US$185 (non-refundable). Interview wait times vary, so plan early.
